Lazy Day

Sorry for the month-long lapse in posting... We were busy vacationing in California with my family. Since Shane is in Salt Lake with the camera and my mom took most of the pictures on the trip, that post will have to wait until Shane returns, but here's a sneak preview of the trip:

In other news, I have entered my work's "busy season," which means I must work at least 50 hours a week (50 chargeable hours, for those of you who understand or have to deal with chargeability). I've only gone through one week of it, but I feel my blogging may drop off a bit until I go on leave. Hopefully updates with the baby will motivate me to post.

Now, on to the purpose for this post. Shane has been out of town since Thursday. Because of the timing of our trip, our house hadn't gone through its regular Saturday cleaning for quite some time, so I was very motivated to spend all day Saturday catching up. Now, was is the important word in that sentence...

Shane surprised me with a massage at a spa that specializes in maternity and post-delivery care, which means they have a special pillow that allows you to lay on your stomach during the massage (which, according to my sister-in-law Jessie was the best part of her whole pregnancy). That massage happened to be yesterday... I got up early to get started on my cleaning and got through all the dishes (we'd let them pile up a little too long) and the random clutter throughout the house.

Well, I went to the massage thinking I'd come home and continue cleaning. Instead, the massage put me into such a wonderful, relaxed state I drove home and had no motivation to do anything! I was so relaxed by the massage, the girl even massaged my feet and I didn't flinch once!! (For those who have never experienced my ticklish feet, let me explain. I can't even scratch my own feet because they're so ticklish!) It was wonderful...

After talking with Shane and learning that he was planning to watch college football most of the day (he had already completed some chores at my parents' house), I didn't feel so bad letting some of the cleaning slip until later in the week. I ended up lazing around the house all day. I did get to the grocery store since I knew we needed some things, but other than that I relaxed up until I had to go to stake conference. At Trader Joe's, I was tempted to buy some chocolate bon-bons just so I could say I sat around watching TV and eating bon-bons all day (which is what my mom joked about doing while we were at school)... Although in retrospect I wish I would've done some cleaning, it was a wonderful, relaxing day!

It sounds like a wonderful day! I definitely support you not cleaning. I wouldn't have! What a sweet husband you have to get you that wonderful massage! I am glad you enjoyed it, and I am amazed you didn't flinch at the feet part. On a second thought, I am way jealous you have Trader Joe's in Arizona! I LOVE that place! I hope you did by bon-bons. They are delicious. I am looking forward to a baby room update!!
